Ingredients of Jackfruit Fry

  1. It's For frying of Mustard oil & 2-3 tbsp for cooking.
  2. It's 500 grams of kathal (jackfruit), chopped.
  3. Prepare 2 of finely chopped onions.
  4. It's 4-5 pods of garlic grated or chopped.
  5. You need 2-3 spoons of ginger grated or chopped.
  6. Prepare of tomato puree of 3 tomatoes.
  7. Prepare 1/2 tsp of red chilli powder or as per taste.
  8. You need 1 tsp of dhania powder.
  9. You need 1/2 tsp of haldi powder.
  10. It's 1/2 tsp of garam masala.
  11. It's To taste of Salt.

Jackfruit Fry instructions

  1. Heat oil in a wok & fry the kathal till they just change colour. do not cook or over fry them. Remove the oil and add 2-3 tbsp fresh oil & heat oil on high heat..
  2. Once oil is hot add onions & saute for 5-7 minutes till light brown. Add ginger & garlic & saute till medium brown..
  3. Add tomato puree & stir well. Add all spices & salt & stir again..
  4. Add the kathal. Reduce heat to low, mix well & cover with a lid. Let it cook. Check every 3-4 minutes. Stir & cover again..
  5. Repeat this till kathal is soft & done..
  6. If cooking in a pressure cooker then just add 1/2 cup water and cook for two whistles. Open lid and let it cook nicely till water evaporates..
  7. Garnish with green coriander and serve hot!.
